.
Hello,

I am Manju Mahadevan, an absolute foodie – I love to eat, cook, share and write about food. I have recently taken an interest in food photography as well. Mirch Masala started as just an online personal space to jot down recipes – recipes inspired from my grandmother, ones that I created on my own and my favorites from elsewhere. It soon took off to becoming a full fledged food blog, which now has more than just recipes – restaurant reviews, food events, cooking class experiences and more. It is now an expression of my love for food and cooking.

I have lived all over South India during the first 25 years of my life and am now settled in Seattle with my wonderful husband who is the perfect partner to a foodie like me - loves to eat good food and will eat anything that is good! Now, that is why my second blog “So I Married A Meat-a-holic…” came into being. Update (01/17/2011) : The blog, So I Married A Meat-a-holic… is now merged with Mirch Masala.

All the recipes here are tried and tasted in my kitchen and those that are not my own recipes have been given due credit. Some of the so-called “traditional” recipes may differ from what some of you may know, but that is what I grew up seeing and is my definition of “traditional”. You may feel free to disagree with me, but please be nice about it. Rudeness will be plainly ignored!! Please ask for permission if you want to use any of my photographs as I have put in a large amount of time and effort into making them as you see it. Also please link to Mirch Masala if you try any recipes from here.
